“Christmas is Coming. The Angus are getting fat. Please to put a penny in the old man’s hat,” so the parodied nursery rhyme goes. As Christmas and the holidays approach
the SC Angus Association officers and directors are meeting to plan the Carolina Angus Futurity for March 20-21, 2009. They have met twice in November, the 2th and 9th, to iron out the plans. Those hooves on the roof were not reindeer but the hooves of the conditioned Angus going to the Futurity. Cattle should be selected after Christmas by the selection team. Hold the dates March 20-21th. The banquet and annual meeting always take place on the Friday night preceding the sale. Call Lewis Smith at (864)261-6982 with questions.
Another list beside the one Santa makes is drawn up around Christmas. The SCAA officers nominate a slate of candidates to run for the SCAA leadership positions. Ballots for the election of the new South Carolina Angus Association officers and directors should be in the mail during the month of December. Three slots for directors will be in contention. The ballots must be returned by February first for tabulation.
