“Santa Claus is coming to town” rings out as December merchandise fills the airways and store shelves. Are we ready to take on the Christmas season and the New Year? It seems that time flies when you have fun with Angus.
Planning the Futurity
Looking ahead with our Angus the directors and officers of the South Carolina Angus Association (SCAA) met in November to plan the Carolina Angus Futurity on March 19-20th in 2010. Mark your calendars and plan which cow/calf pairs you will get ready for the sale. Chairman Lewis Smith will be roaming the South Carolina hills to select the best of the Angus breed to offer at the sale.
Festivities will begin on the eve of the Futurity with the SCAA annual meeting and banquet. The new additions to the officers and directors will be introduced.
Walter Shealy and his committee will introduce new inductees into the South Carolina Angus Hall of Fame. The dinner venue is again at Tucker’s Restaurant in Anderson, SC at 6:00 for the social hour and 7:00 for the banquet.
Saturday at noon the Carolina Angus Futurity sale begins at the T. Ed Garrison Cattle Complex. Chairman Lewis Smith contacted the American Angus Hall of Fame to manage the sale. Jeremy Haag will represent the Hall. At ringside David Gazda, Shirley Myers and Alex Williams will take the bids. Plan to be there.

These books were released at the 2009 NJAS and were a tremendous success! We still have copies available for sale. “ The books are $60.00 each plus $10 shipping. Another idea is to give an Angus cow or calf for your child or grand-child. Somehow working with and around Angus and Angus people can turn naughty into nice.
Watch for Ballot
“You’d better watch out” for your ballot in the mail for election of SCAA officers and directors right after
Santa Claus comes to town.
