Summer is fast on the way out. School has begun and the second cutting of hay is happening. As the fall fairs and shows take over the days, we still have some reporting to do on what is past.
Every August South Carolina has an all breed beef show and competition that pulls youth from all the states around. The All Breed Beef Round-Up is a well-rounded competition for the juniors. Lydia Yon, one of the South Carolina Junior Angus advisors, sent this summary of the event:

Prior to the Angus Show many activities for the exhibitors were held on Friday evening and Saturday. Many of our Angus Juniors participated in the Sales Talk Competition and Sally and Corbin Yon won the Senior and Intermediate Divisions, respectively. Corbin was the recipient of a $1000 scholarship for Autism Awareness given by the Gary Vickery Family, which was based on his combined placing for Sales Talk, Cattlemen’s Contest, and Showmanship. Drake Yon was the High Scoring Individual in the Senior Division of the Cattlemen’s Contest.
A good time was had by all and the SC Juniors are looking forward to a busy fall show season.
Events start popping just as the days grow shorter and daylight savings time quits saving time.
