Elections are still in process.

The South Carolinas Angus Association (SCAA) delegation and other members will be on the road to the Angus Show at the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE.) The annual meeting of the American Angus Association will occur on Monday, November 15. Kevin Yon from Yon Family Farms in Ridge Spring, SC is running for the AAA board with the full endorsement of the SCAA officers and directors. The delegates are Kevin Yon, Walter Shealy III and Evelyn Edmunds with alternates Ted Bartee, Ted Bourne, and David Gibbons.

Carolina Angus Futurity

The officers and directors met on November 6, 2010 to plan the Carolina Angus Futurity on March 19, 2011. Frankie Mullikin is the sales chairman. The annual meeting and banquet will be held on the Friday night, March 18, 2011 at Tucker’s Restaurant in Anderson, SC. The Futurity will be dedicated to a member who has contributed to the Angus breed and the SCAA by unselfish service. The price of an adult ticket is $25. Children under 12 are $10. Only SCAA members are eligible to enter their Angus in the sale. Tom Burke from the Angus Hall of Fame will be touring to select the cattle after Christmas. Dues are only $20 and may be sent to Windy Bartee at 1717 St. Paul Church Road, Clover, SC 29710 along with your contact information. It is time to publish a new directory for SCAA. Paid-up members will be included in the new directory.

The Angus way of life is a great way to live. Merry Christmas and may you have a happy New Year!
