Ed Garrison Cattle Barn Complex. Frankie Mullikin (864-506-1282) is the SCAA chairman with the American Angus Hall of Fame's Jeremy Haag as sale manager (816-532-0811) angushall@earthlink.net. The committee is visiting farms to select quality females to be entered.
The new officers and directors will be presented at the South Carolina Angus Association annual meeting and banquet on Friday, March 16 at 6:00.The presentation of the SC Angus Hall of Fame inductees and the dedication of the Futurity is the high-light of the evening. The dinner is held at Tuckers Restaurant, 3501 Clemson Boulevard Anderson, SC 29621-1328 (864) tumblet8@bellsouth.net. A group of rooms is blocked off on March 16 for SCAA at the Comfort Suites., 118 Interstate Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621 (864-622-1200) with the rate $75.99 plus tax. Meanwhile this is an election year for the country and the SCAA. Please vote for the good of the SC Angus Association and the country but VOTE. Elections determine the future of our nation as well as our South Carolina Angus Association. Ballots determine the new leaders of your organization. Please take time to vote and send in your ballots. Your decisions change the future for us all.
Many of you have been concerned about Cory Watt from Iva and his fight with cancer. Cory has served as the SCJAA president for several years. He is a college student at Clemson and has continued to show Angus. He and his sister Carly showed in November at the NAILE in Louisville, KY. He is the nephew of Mark Duffell from Whitestone. Cory had surgery on the brain tumor on Tuesday, January 2 in Greenville, SC. Jody Watt wrote this report after the surgery,
“ Cory was in surgery for about 5 hrs. Everything went very good and the Dr seems confident that all the tumor was removed. He has movement in all his arms, legs, feet and hands. They will do another MRI in the morning to be sure everything looks good. They also put in a port for chemotherapy treatment while he was asleep. Thanks for everyone’s prayers. God is good.” —Jody
And then this came from Jody:
"The MRI this morning was good and didn't show any sign of tumor left.
Cory came home this afternoon and is a little tired, but feeling good. He
is excited to be watching the Clemson game while laying on his couch.
To
God we give all the glory.
Jody"
Keep Cory and his family in your prayers as they continue the battle against cancer. As we face the new year with its unknowns, we wish you the best of happiness and health.
PS: Cory went back to classes at Clemson when they resumed.
